Fees and Financial Support

Fees

Education at EPFL and ETH Zurich is funded by the government, which means that all students – Swiss and foreign – pay the same modest tuition fees. The current tuition and student fees are 644 Swiss francs (CHF) per semester. Living costs – including accommodation, food, health insurance, local transport – average 1500–1600 CHF per month.

Financial support

Both EPFL and ETH Zurich offer scholarships for outstanding
students, as well as for students of certain categories. Students should apply for financial support only through the institution through which they are seeking admission to the program.

Mobility support

Independently of their financial circumstances, all students in the Nuclear Engineering Master's program receive a mobility scholarship to compensate for the additional expenses incurred by the necessity to change accommodation during the curriculum. The financial support consists of a single payment of 5000 CHF to each student enrolled in the program. This mobility support is provided by the country's Competence Center Energy and Mobility (CCEM-CH), which promotes the development of a more sustainable energy system.
