Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering

Core Courses

The core courses lay the foundations of the Master’s program in providing students with core knowledge according to the program’s goals and the qualification profile. There are seven compulsory courses (28 credit points), each of which must be passed to obtain the Master’s degree

Compulsory Courses:

• Neutronics (4 cp)
• Reactor Experiments (4 cp)
• Reactor Technology (4 cp)
• Nuclear Fuels & Materials (4 cp)
• Nuclear Safety (4 cp)
• Special Topics in Reactor Physics (4 cp)
• Nuclear Energy Systems (4 cp)

Elective Courses

An additional 20 credits are covered by five elective core courses, chosen from the following tracks:

• Track Option A: Energy Systems
• Track Option B: Physics and Materials
• Track Option C: Thermal-hydraulics

The tracks are not equivalent to different specializations but are rather intended as orientation guides for choosing your electives. You may choose the five elective courses from more than one track, the choice being made in consultation with your tutor, who can explain the orientation implied by each course.
